This pop-up exhibition features the work of poet and storyteller Alan Bern and artist Robert Woods, who have worked together under the fine publishing imprint Lines & Faces for more than forty years. Robert Woods is a painter, sculptor, wood engraver and printmaker. Alan Bern has worked in public libraries in the East Bay Area for 25 years. His third book of poetry, greater distance and other poems, with design and illustrations by Robert Woods, was released by Lines & Faces in 2015. The illustrated broadsides will be on view for the week and during two live performances March 16 & 17. Partial funds from sales of broadsides will be donated to the BAC by the artists.
Lucinda Weaver, who danced with the Margaret Jenkins Dance Company, and poet Alan Bern have performed together for fifteen years as PACES: dance & poetry fit to the space. Bern and Weaver will perform a dance/poetry collaboration based on broadsides by Robert Woods and Alan Bern. Performances take place March 16 & 17. All funds donated to the BAC by the performers.
