Family workshop with Toni Gentilli and Larry Stefl

February 28, 2015, 12 - 3pm
Free and open to the public, suitable for all ages

Artist Toni Gentilli will guide us on an exploration of some of the processes and techniques used throughout history make photographs. Make your own cyanotypes, photograms and contact prints and learn about cameras that your great grandparents may have used!

We know the world of ceramics is so much bigger than pottery...but if not on a potter's wheel, how DO we make art from a shapeless lump of clay? Artist and art educator Larry Stefl will teach us basic ceramic construction techniques- the building blocks of all hand-built clay. Join us in Berkeley Art Center's sculpture patio to be inspired by the resident works of Harold Paris, Stephen deStaebler and Peter Voulkos. Participants will make a piece with air-dry clay to take home.

Programs for Young Artists at BAC are dedicated to providing free arts education based workshops for youth from kindergarten to high-school, led by Bay Area based emerging artists and arts educators. The bi-monthly workshops will be free and open to all young people and their families.
