Family workshop with Lauren Ari

Featuring artist Lauren Ari, instructor at the Richmond Art Center Create colorful dictionary-paintings and make magical peg doll friends!

Artist Lauren Ari uses everyday materials such as dictionary pages and sheet music as the background for her whimsical narrative paintings. She will demonstrate her techniques and help you create your own unusual masterpiece.

Kids of all ages can then make wooden peg-doll people using paints and felt to complete their personalities. Peg-dolls can become the inspiration for endless play and storytelling. Bring a friend and make new ones!

Programs for Young Artists at BAC are dedicated to providing free arts education based workshops for youth from kindergarten to high-school, led by Bay Area based emerging artists and arts educators. The bi-monthly workshops will be free and open to all young people and their families.
