Events and Workshops 2011

Paper Quilt Project Family Day

November 12, 2011

Berkeley Art Center hosts an interactive workshop featuring paper and collage, encouraging families and children to make their own personal and collaborative paper quilt using a variety of materials inspired by Paper Quilt Project artists. Artists in the exhibition will lead activities for all ages and speak informally about their work in the exhibition. Feel free to bring something from home (a photograph, memento, drawing, etc...) to incorporate in your paper collage. Families will enjoy creative time with their family members and friends, snacks, and the opportunity to take home their finished product!

Quilting Bee & Artists' Dialogue

November 5, 2011, 4 - 6pm

Join artist and exhibition curator Lena Wolff, as well as three of the artist teams in the exhibition to discuss the unique collaborative process of the works on view in Paper Quilt Project, and the historical influences that inform their contemporary practice. Requested contribution, free for members.

Join us for a Quilting Bee and Artist's Dialogue with artists and exhibition organizer Lena Wolff along with Bean Gilsdorf, artist and contributor to Art Practical. The event will be structured around the idea of a quilting bee.
