It was a genuine honor to serve as jurors for the Berkeley Art  Center's 2010 Annual Exhibition. For over twenty-five years this exhibition has provided a diverse group of talented artists with the opportunity to present their work in this unique venue. Each  year this exhibition includes a combination of well known artists sharing the gallery with promising young talent from throughout  California. This year's presentation is no exception with a wide array of imaginative works in a variety of media including a  surprising emphasis on portraiture. Congratulations to this  organization for its long-term support of our arts community and its continued growth under the directorship of Suzanne Tan."

Intimate Nature
Explorations in and around Berkeley Art Center
October 9 – November 28, 2010

An intimate exploration of the natural world, inspired by Berkeley Art Center’s idyllic setting in Live Oak Park and above Codornices Creek. The exhibition includes video installation, artists who work with ephemeral and recycled materials, and performative and interactive components that blur the physical separation of the gallery and its natural environment. Public programs will include opportunities to participate in local native plantings, nature walks, and interactive create-with-nature nature zones inside and outside the gallery space, along with an artist talk or panel presentation.
