Berkeley Art Center could not exist without the help of wonderful volunteers — and now needs volunteer assistance more than ever! Our volunteers’ time is always put to good use, assisting us at special events, gallery sitting, and helping with mailings or installing exhibitions. To find out how you can help, please e-mail us at info [at] berkeleyartcenter.org and put “Volunteer” in the subject line, or call (510) 644-6893.
Berkeley Art Center is a fantastic place to learn the ropes of museum and curatorial work and has allowed me to discover just how much the art world has to offer! The small setting is opportune for gaining experience in the field — personal interactions with members of the art community and hands-on work in marketing, organizing events and preparing new exhibitions have confirmed my desire to pursue this as a career."

Internships at the Berkeley Art Center provide experience to aspiring professionals – experience not just for your resume, but for your future. If you are one of our interns, you sign a letter of agreement stating that you will work a specific number of hours each week until your project is completed. Students pursuing related degrees in art, art history, film studies, literature, and/or art education are encouraged to apply as part of their educational program. All levels of experience will be considered, as appropriate to the particular internship program.
