The subject of a major retrospective at the Oakland Museum this spring, Michael C. McMillen creates evocative installations with the perspective of dada and a palette of assemblage, expending the language of sculpture to encompass both technology and mortality. McMillen's work is represented in numerous collections, including the Guggenheim Museum and the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles. His pieces, gathering detritus of loss and waste, offer a mysterious shadow of life.
