Combat Paper
Saturday, April 21 and Sunday, April 22, 1-4pm

Combat PaperIn conjunction with Yelling Clinic, we are pleased to invite the general public to drop in on a unique and compelling collaborative art-making project facilitated by Drew Cameron from Combat Paper. Combat Paper uses traditional hand papermaking to facilitate inter-generational workshops with veterans, family members and the non-veteran community in the transformation of clothing rags into paper, prints, books and art. Through the hand papermaking process, the clothing is deconstructed, transformed and altered into paper sheets that accentuate those individual and collective stories. Materials will be provided on a drop-in basis and the process and participation is open to all ages. Please join us! www.combatpaper.org

BestSpring Artist Lecture Series:
David Best

Saturday, April 28, 4pm

From sculpture using ceramic and found objects, to elaborate and fantastic art cars, David Best has spun structure into spectacular shrines of ultimate ephemeral existence. And all the while his canny eye has collaged on an enormous scale, from the wall into space into architecture. Weaving tapestry or alter, David Best creates a vision beyond our experience.

$10 general admission, free for BAC members and students. RSVPs are strongly encouraged by calling 510.644.6893 or e-mail annw [at] berkeleyartcenter.org

An artist who has layers of cultural influence, geographical adaptation, and temporal persistence, Morphesis creates works which grab and hold the viewer in an unflinching examination of mortality.

$10 general admission, free for BAC members and students.
