Oropallo Spring Artist Lecture Series:
Deborah Oropallo
Saturday, January 28, 4pm

In paintings and prints, Deborah Oropallo has forged inventive bodies of work which engage and challenge the viewer in reading the form and content. Fracturing or merging images, Oropallo renders relationships of power and position which point to societal norms and subtexts.

Tom Holland

Saturday, March 17, 4pm

holland

An artist of California expansiveness, Tom Holland gives depth, light, and vibrancy to painted surface. Taking aluminum or fiberglass, Holland, whether in painting up against the wall or forming a free-standing object, is foremost a colorist. He pulls from pigment a luminousity and gives voice to a concert of color.

Free to Berkeley Art Center artist-level members, $10 suggested contribution for non-members.
RSVPs are strongly encouraged by calling 510.644.6893 or e-mail annw [at] berkeleyartcenter.org

BestSpring Artist Lecture Series:
David Best

Saturday, April 28, 4pm

From sculpture using ceramic and found objects, to elaborate and fantastic art cars, David Best has spun structure into spectacular shrines of ultimate ephemeral existence. And all the while his canny eye has collaged on an enormous scale, from the wall into space into architecture. Weaving tapestry or alter, David Best creates a vision beyond our experience.

Free to Berkeley Art Center artist-level members, $10 suggested contribution for non-members.
RSVPs are strongly encouraged by calling 510.644.6893 or e-mail annw [at] berkeleyartcenter.org

Spring Artist Lecture Series:
Irene Segalove

Saturday, June 23, 4pm

segalove

Ilene Segalove has taken photography, video, text and audio to pursue a droll examination of social and sexual convention. Segalove's reflection of L.A. culture is drawn with the humor of conceptual art while engaging the very conventions she illuminates with irony. These quirky works form a part of Pacific Standard Time at the Getty, MoCA, and the Orange County Museum.

Free to Berkeley Art Center artist-level members, $10 suggested contribution for non-members.
RSVPs are strongly encouraged by calling 510.644.6893 or e-mail annw [at] berkeleyartcenter.org
