Members' Annual Exhibition

The BAC's annual Members’ Showcase is open to all current Artist Members ($50/$45 seniors and students.) The salon style presentation features myriad styles, levels of accomplishment and points-of-view representing a cross-section of the BAC artistic community.

Finalists and Honorable Mentions will be selected. Finalists receive studio visits from BAC staff which are used as a basis for granting one to three of the Finalists a solo or small group exhibition.

Please note, past winners, BAC board and staff are not eligible for this selection (however, they may exhibit in the Showcase.)

Guidelines for the 2007 BAC Members' Showcase:

Eligibility: any current BAC "artist" member may submit one work in any medium.

Size Limitations: Size limit of 24" in any dimension, including frame. Therefore, total external measurement (around the frame) should not exceed 96". Freestanding sculpture may be up to 10' in height, but may not exceed 24" in width or depth.

Delivery: Work must be delivered and picked up on the specified days and times. Please see schedule below.

Presentation: Work must be protected, if appropriate (plexiglass and frames for works on paper or fragile works), and all special hardware, stands, or wire needed for hanging or other presentation must be provided.

Work must be recent, within the last 3 years, and cannot have been previously shown at the Berkeley Art Center.

Shipped Work: All shipped work must include adequate return postage, or it will be returned UPS COD. Appropriate return shipping materials must also be provided.

Awards: One to Three artists will be selected for an exhibition in 2008. Finalists and Honorable Mention labels will appear beside recipient artwork.

Monday, December 3, 2007: noon - 7pm

Shipped Artwork: Artists who live a great distance from BAC may ship works at their own expense and with appropriate return shipping materials provided. Shipped works must arrive by Wednesday, December 5, 2007. *Please include with your artwork a completed application form/loan agreement*

Exhibition Dates: December 9, 2007 - January 13, 2008.

Opening Reception: December 9, 2007, 2 - 4pm.

In-person pick-up: If you cannot pick up your work on this day during these hours, please arrange for a friend to pick it up for you. We cannot make exceptions for other dates or times. If artwork is not picked-up on these dates the artist/lender will be charged a storage fee of $10/day.

January 13, 2008: 5 - 7pm and January 14, 2008: noon - 5pm

Shipped Returns: Shipped artwork will be packed in return materials provided by the artist/lender and will be sent after Tuesday January 15, 2008.
