Karin Lusnak
Karin Lusnak's delicate sculptural pieces in fiber exude a feeling of home, either through structure or resembling domestic artifacts. Lusnak studied biology as an undergraduate and worked for over twenty-five years as a research associate in genetics and molecular biology at the University of California Berkeley. She has pursued her interest in textile art continuously since 1976 and received a Masters of Fine Arts in textiles from California College of the Arts. |
Michelle Mansour
Michelle Mansour's abstract acrylic and silicon gel images of colorful, swirling matter resemble both microscopic and intergalactic life forms simultaneously. Mansour is an Oakland artist whose work has been shown in solo and group shows in Chicago and the San Francisco Bay Area. She received a B.A. in Art Theory and Practice from Northwestern University and recently completed her Masters of Fine Arts in Painting at the San Francisco Art Institute. |
Doris Mitsch
Breath-takingly sensuous forms emerge out of darkness in images created by Doris Mitsch. The artist places organic matter such as petals or blades of grass on her scanner, and digitally accentuates the chiaroscuro effect of the resulting scanned images. Mitsch received her Bachelor of Arts from Stanford University and studied with Tod Hiddo, Linda Geary, Evri Kwong, Leonie Guyer and Carole Peel at California College of the Arts. The San Francisco-based artist has had exhibitions the United States and abroad. |
