Youth Arts Festival

January 30 - March 9, 2008

 

The Berkeley Art Center’s Youth Arts Festival is an enchanting and inspiring exhibition celebrating the talent of Berkeley public school K-12 students and their dedicated teachers. The show will include painting, drawing, collage, sculpture, photography and mixed media projects.   Concerts and poetry readings will be offered throughout the festival.  For an up-to-date listing of the Youth Arts Festival programming, please go to www.berkeleyartcenter.org.

In coordination with the Berkeley Unified School District, this year’s Youth Arts Festival with present the work of students in the district’s Art Anchor Schools.  The Arts Learning Anchor School Initiative is a partnership of the Alameda County Office of Education/Alliance for Arts Learning Leadership, Oakland, Berkeley and Emery Unified School Districts and Bay Area Coalition for Equitable Schools. Oakland, Berkeley and Emery Unified School Districts have been designated Pilot Districts for the county to develop professional development models in coordination with arts learning and local school reform initiatives in urban school districts.
